Add a menu

All templates are already designed with a menu. If you want to add a menu on a new or empty subpage - or use a different menu design, you can select one from our pre-built menu sections. You will find them in the Header category in the left sidebar.

Once you have added a menu section, you can double-click on the menu element inside to open the settings panel on the left side.

Here you can decide if you want the menu to be automatically (Auto) created or if you want to configure the menu on your own - which would be the Custom option.

  • Auto: When you select Auto the menu will be automatically generated by using the subpages you have added under Pages for this website. So this is only possible if you have a multi-page website. If you want to exclude certain subpages from being seen in the menu, you can go to Pages, click on the settings icon for your desired page, and disable the Menu checkbox under Settings. To change the order of the menu items, simply use drag and drop to move the pages to their position.

  • Custom: A custom menu is necessary if you have a one-page website with different sections you want to link to. You can also use this option when you have a multi-page website and simply want to customize the items to your needs. When you select Custom you will already see a list of menu items. You can add more menu items by hovering over an existing one and clicking on one of the plus icons that appear. To delete an item click the trash can icon when hovering over it.

    • You have different options to link a menu item. You can link it to:
      • None: If you don't want to link anything
      • Page: Choose from the existing subpages
      • External: Add an external URL or link a file
      • Element: Use the element picker to select an element on the website
      • A phone number
      • An email address

To edit the style of the menu bar and the menu items including the dropdowns (called Submenu) access the menu bar settings by double-clicking on the menu bar label at the top of the element.
